Murphy-Wall is sponsoring all 12 bingo rounds at the upcoming Glo-Bingo Fundraiser to support Elverado students on Saturday March 23. Briley reported the bank has reserved 3 tables for employees or their guests (30 all together).
The fundraiser is set to take place at the Du Quoin American Legion, 600 S. Jefferson St. in Du Quoin. Proceeds are to benefit the Elverado Education Foundation, Booster Club and P.T.O. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with Glo-Bingo starting at 7:00 p.m.
Over $1,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded at the bingo. Elverado Booster Club President Robert Cavitt said, “I’m looking forward to this,” noting the glo-bingo to be the first time all three organizations have collaborated on such an event. “We all work together in our own ways to help,” he reflected, going on to mention, “This is the first time they’ve combined for the event, and all the money is going back to the school.” The three groups provide funds for academics, students in school sports, teacher grants, classroom equipment, and scholarships for graduating seniors in the Elverado school district.
Murphy-Wall has also donated an item to the “Made in America” silent auction, which is scheduled to run concurrent with the bingo.
Admission is $25 per person if payed in advance, or $30 at the door. Those planning to attend the bingo can purchase a table for 10 for $200. Round sponsorships are $100 each. Participants must be 18 or older to attend. Cavitt reported, “Remember, no donation is too small to help Elverado students in 2019. All checks should be payable to Elverado Education Foundation and mailed to EEF, P O Box 623, Elkville, IL 62932.”
