Pinckneyville IL – The Billie Ray Craig Memorial Junior Golf Classic, sponsored by Murphy-Wall State Bank and Trust Company was conducted Tuesday June 4, 2019 at the Red Hawk Country Club, Pinckneyville, IL.

The tournament hosted 35 junior golfers from across Southern Illinois. The tournament, which is a Point Event for the Southern Illinois Golf Association Junior Golf Tour, is named after the late Billie Ray Craig of Pinckneyville, an avid golfer and member of the Southern Illinois Golf Hall of Fame.

His wife, Marlene Craig and son-in-law Wes Choate helped with the tournament in his memory. Murphy-Wall State Bank Assistant Vice President/Teller Supervisor Kathy Kellerman, Vice President and Administrative Assistant Monika Holder and Assistant Vice President and Assistant Branch Manager Chrissy Hagene were on hand for the events of the day.

In the 4-5 year old boys, Charlie Liefer of Red Bud received first and Luke Epplin of Pinckneyville with second place. In the 6-7 year old girls, Lyra Basinger of Eldorado received first and Stella Crews of Tamaroa with second place. In the 6-7 year old boys, Kannon Kowzan of Pinckneyville received first. In the 8-9 year old boys, Ryder Ridgeway of Du Quoin received first. In the 10-11 year old boys, Carson Hagler of Herrin received first, Tallen James of Chester with second place. In the 12-13 year old girls, Alyssa Paul of Salem received first, while Camryn Luthy of Chester received second. In the same age group for boys, River Stilley of Benton received first place, and Cannon Weatherly of Eldorado was second. In the 14-15 year old girls group, Treya Fassett of Waltonville received first, while Nile Adcock of Pinckneyville received first in the boys division and Reid Harriss of Steeleville received second. In the 16-18 year olds boys division, Dalton Saeger of Benton received first place, while Jarrett James of Chester received second. In the same age group for the girls, Ali Lamb of Chester received first place, while Jaylee Glenn of McLeansboro received second.
